The final team briefing finished at midnight

Almost every team member has been on his or her feet the whole day. We had our regular briefing in the morning while Logistics Director Faruk Abdul Rahman and the mechanics went to the Soba Inland Port in their attempt to clear the cars. As the briefing was going on, Faruk would call and give us updates…8 cars... 10 cars... 14 cars…

We finished the briefing at 11am and the whole team went to the supermarket for last minute shopping, mainly food for the next four days of camping.

By about lunch time, Faruk calls and the cars are ready to be released. Expedition Leader Halim Abdul Rahman gets all the drivers together and they head to the port.

By afternoon, the cars arrive at the hotel, and the team members repack and prepare their cars for tomorrow’s flag off. The day ends with another briefing at 10pm. Lights out at midnight for all except the management team, mechanics and TV crew.
