We entered Thailand at its northern border at of Chiang Rai . A VIP welcome awaited us - Thai warmth and hospitality soothed away the pain and fatique from our Laotian experience.
We stayed a full day to explore the area before heading for Bangkok. The drive was easy on a good highway except for mechanical problems encountered by some cars and bikes. Bangkok is a mix of everything - from its dazzling Grand Palace and 400 temples to waterways, red light district, markets and museums. We visited Hua Hin then moved on to Haatyai - our last stop before Putrajaya.
By now, most of us were anxious to be home. Nothing else mattered.
