Silk Road Adventure 2001

Here’s a glimpse of our Silk Road expedition held in August/September last year. The 59 day journey took us along the ancient Silk Road from Turkey to China, and then south to Malaysia, a distance of 20.100 kilometres.

From Istanbul, we crossed the Bosphorus into Central Asia. We drove through Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan to Xi’an in China, then south to Laos and Thailand - before reaching Putrajaya, Malaysia. Our route traversed the realms of hostile deserts and high mountains. Winding through the corridors of time, we passed ancient kingdoms and cities. The Silk Road’s art, history and culture overwhelmed us. But the wrath of nature was never too far away. For almost two months, we took on the challenge, completely in awe of the Silk Road’s wonders.
