the PETRONAS Silk Road Adventure 2001 is finally over. I took a few days off to get some rest and spend time with the family, and then it was back to reality. Monday beckons and all the work that has piled up over the last two months is finally getting some attention. For me the silk road adventure is far from over. I now have to sort the pictures out and edit the documentary. Seems like a daunting task but actually Im enjoying it. Its like going on the trip all over again, looking at Istanbul and Turkey, the sense of achievement is slowly sinking in. We made it guys ! Wow, what a trip.
As I write this friends and family are calling to congratulate me and listen to the stories of the trip. All the shopping I have done (which is not much compared to some people) is being distributed now Im wishing I had bought more stuff. Those Osama t-shirts would make great gifts now.
As for the team, I hardly had time to say goodbye to everyone, as expected families and friends were the first priority at Putrajaya. Im sure I will be seeing you guys in the near future. Already Ive received several dinner invitations and Im planning one of my own.
Ton and Anton left for home a few days ago, we wish them all the best and hope to see them again soon. Lim Mah Tat and the Sabah Team are much nearer and I am sure we will be meeting again, especially those going for the Borneo Challenge and The Rainforest Challenge next month.
Lastly, I wish to thank everyone for the help they have given me in making this website a success and a special Thank You to Bobby Midnight Cowboy and Fadhil for a great time.
No doubt we will be updating the website regularly on the latest PAT activities and news. Check the latest news section. We will also be posting the final report by Stingray and Bravo Lima on the Silk Road Adventure 2001 in the near future and we will inform you about the transmission dates for the documentary on TV3. Email me when you have the time or even drop by to see the editing in progress. See you !
