Our journey through Laos was short but eventful. The road soon became a rustic trail. We spent a night at Luang Namtha where amenities were truly basic.
Leaving at the crack of dawn, we discovered the road had transformed into a river of mud.- all the way to the Thai border on the banks of the Mekong River. The trail proved especially challenging for our bikers. It was a great relief to board the ferry that would take us across the river into Thailand.
