Now in Morocco - looking forward to be back. Everybody had food poisoining the last few days. I have started cooking fried rice for Stiven and Ah Boy. Ah Boy is still down with diarhoea. Thank you for paying the last respect to my mother-in-law. I miss the old lady as she was more than a mother to me. See you in KL.

Wassalam.

From : Baharom Hamzah (Bingo Bingo) To : Baby and Adik

Thanks for your email. We are now at the Atlas Mountains, Morocco - camping again. Tomorrow will be the last night for camping. Then to Casablanca before flying back to KL. Got you extra virgin olive oil from Morocco. Salam pada semua. Can't wait to be back home as the expedition is almost ending. See you soon. Bye.

From : Azmi (Golden Dreams) To : Cheetah Pencen, Apai, Nadia, Nazri and wife

Thank you for your support. It was nice to read all your messages. For Cheetah Pencen, it would have been better if you had been around - boleh berebut-rebut shot. For Nadia and Apai, see you back in KL - boleh bercerita panjang nanti. For Nazri and wife - I did not take any sand from Sahara, but I have bought you a desert rose. Bye, see you soon.

The countdown has started and I will soon be home. An adventure of a lifetime, a dream becoming a reality and memories to last a lifetime - well, this is what the expedition has been. I will be home soon.

Things are fine with me. The entire expedition has been great. The weather is quite cold here in Algeria. I have a long list of gifts to buy but I have not done much shopping as nothing amuses me here. It is my prayer that everything is well at home. I love and miss all of you.?

From : Joyce Simson (Simba) To : Datin Dulcie

Thank you so much for remembering me, Datin Dulcie. I am truly touched by your care and concern. It is people like you who make this world a much nicer place. I am doing fine here. Each day that unfolds brings with it many memories that will indeed last a lifetime.

From : Joyce Simson (Simba) To : Uncle John, Aunty Joy, Johnson and Jordana

Thank you for your messages. It was a wonderful surprise to receive all the messages. It was indeed amazing walking along the shores of the Red Sea. Do tell Jordana that I could not walk through the Red Sea like Moses did. I am happy to hear that she is learning the bible stories very well. The entire expedition has been a great learning experience.

From : Baharom Hamzah (Bingo Bingo) To : Baby and Adik Lina

Thanks for your email. Sorry for this late reply. Well, the email was only retrieved during our journey and can only be replied when we are in the hotel. It is really nice to hear from you. Thanks also for the update on the UMNO elections. I am now in Algeria - Day 3 in Algeria before we take a ferry to Spain this coming Thursday. It is a 14-hour ferry ride. So far it has been very interesting trip especially camping in Sahara. Nights in Sahara have always been very pleasant and the weather was fantastic. Can't wait to be back and salam kepada semua.

Assalamualaikum. Harap Sayang di sana sihat-sihat sahaja. Abang di sini Alhamdulillah sihat-sihat sahaja. Abang sekarang berada di Algeria. Selepas ini akan masuk ke Sepanyol. Makin lama makin terasa rindu kat Sayang - rinduuuuuuuuuu sangat. Sampai termimpi-mimpi, Sayang. Sabarlah menanti kepulangan Abang. Ada apa-apa berita, emailkanlah kepada Abang. Sekian, sampai di sini, salam rindu. Always love you.

From : Saravanan (Siera Siera) To : Kartini, Divya and Gautham

How are you? I really miss you. I am in the town of Tiaret, Algeria. Nothing much to see here. The weather here is very cold. I have finally taken out my jacket. The people here eat very large portions - yesterday we had one whole goat for 5 people to finish. I am eating goat every day, but I am not taking my medicine. Two days time we will be in Spain - hopefully I will enjoy myself there. How are the children? What are they doing? Are they missing me? I miss them too very, very much. Please take care of them. Don't scold them without my permission. I will try to buy something from Morocco, not in Algeria - not even souvenir. The only thing I bought in Algeria is the prepaid card. You can call me to the number that was given to you whenever Divya and Gautham want. Get ready when I come back - the food I want. I am fine. My car is doing very well. Please send my birthday wishes to Suresh. That's all for time being. I love you very much. See you and take care of yourself and the kids. Bye.

From : Saravanan (Siera Siera) To : Suganthy and family

Happy to hear from you. I am okay. My Ninja is also doing very well. Now I am in Algeria. Two days time I will be in Spain. The security in Algeria is very tight. The weather here is very cold. Yesterday we were served one whole goat for 5 people and everyday we get almost the same food - I miss home cooked curry very much - make sure you get the curry ready when I come back. There is nothing to buy here. Make sure you take care of Divya and Gautham until I come back. Do send my regards to the family and all at home. Take care and miss all of you very much.

Assalamualaikum. Apa khabar semua?

From : Kamsol Warjan (Kilo Whiskey) To : Rakan-rakan semua

From : Saifuddin (Bujang Sigat) To : Anny and family

Assalamualaikum. Apa khabar semua? Harap dalam keadaan sihat selalu. Saya di sini baik-baik belaka. Have another 2 days in Algeria and be going to Spain on 29th evening. Will get hold of you when I have the line. How are all the kids? I miss my umai and sambal belacan so much. Sini makan kambing sahaja. Miss you all so much. Catch you later.

From : Anthony (Orang Utan) To : Mummy Shirley, Nana and De De

Hope everything is fine at home. Daddy is fine here. Daddy is in Algeria now. The weather is getting cold. Daddy has covered the hard core of Sahara desert. It is getting more relaxed now. Daddy will be in Spain in 2 days. After Spain, we will go to Morocco, the last country in the trip. Daddy will call you from Spain as there is no access to telephone now. Take care. Daddy loves and misses all of you very much.

From : Lee Kaw (Mad Dog) To : Kenneth Lee Voon Yew

I am sorry I am unable to congratulate Michelle on her birthday as there is no line available. Please convey to her my congratulations. Hopefully in the next few days we will reach a place where I can either sms or phone her. I think by now Mother and Grandmother should have arrived in KL by Jackie or Madeline's car. Today upon arrival at the hotel, there was a CR programme by PETRONAS and PAT to meet the local scouts and the atmosphere was extremely friendly and cordial and I am one of the most fortunate of the PAT Adventure group to receive a gift from one of the most senior scout master. In fact after dinner we met again and again we exchanged very cordial greetings. We are still in Algeria. Most of the trip was heavily escorted by the army and the police front and back - reminds me of my trip to Burma with Mummy. Mummy will be able to explain more details of the trip in Burma especially about the escort. The number of personnel escorts is not as many as the one in Burma. Well, I will take the opportunity to phone back especially to Mummy when line is available. Take care of Mummy and wish all of you well. Hope to hear from you soon. Bye.

I di Tiaret and ni line 2 make call 2 u. Nanti cross border to Spain klu ada peluang i akan call u. Miss u and love u all. Yaya okay?

From : Paul Si (Bayang) To : Rena

Thanks so much for the welcome news and snippets from home. We're in Algeria now, where there is no roaming for Malaysian cell phones. We're driving from one town to another with armed paramilitary police escorts in front and at the back of the convoy. Everyone's been away from home long enough to miss their loved ones so there's a long queue of people waiting to send messages. Each day, when the convoy is on the move, we all look forward eagerly to Harun reading out the latest messages over the CB radio, and each message reminds us of the ones we miss, and those who miss us. Bought nothing so far because everything is either of poor quality, or is made in China, or both. We're heading for the port city of Oran tomorrow (Sept 28). We'll be boarding a ferry to Spain, then a long drive before boarding another ship to Morocco. All this is necessary because the border between Algeria and Morocco is closed. Hope to be able to contact you when we get to Spain. Love you and miss you.

From : Papa (Bravo Lima) To : Zanna

Glad to get your mail. We are now in Tiaret. Another 2 more days and we will be in Spain. By then you can sms me. Really looking forward to be back home. Also would like to see the pond. For the boys, good to hear that you are working hard since the exam is just around the corner. Me, Uncle Harun, Uncle Halim and Aunty Zainab are all fine and enjoying ourselves. Will call home as soon as I arrive in Spain. Haven't done much shopping. Maybe in Spain or Morocco. That's all. Please take care of yourselves. My love, hugs and kisses to all at home.

From : Stiven Sim (Desert Rat) To : Lim Eng Guan (Grandpa)

We got the car fixed and rejoined the convoy in Tripoli. All is going well and we miss the old faces. Hantu has not been cooking fried rice for Ah Boy. Ah Boy has been taking care of all Hantu's eggs but still no fried rice.

From : Paul Si (Bayang) To : Rena and the Buayas

Hi all. Sorry have to combine messages to everyone. It's been a long day - full of sand, more sand and yet more, bl**** sand and I am sitting on sand now. Reached camp site about 8:30 p.m. - didn't see much except ... you guessed it, sand, more bl**** sand. I am sick of sand. But seriously it's been interesting. We are in Tunisia now where it is more Mediteranean and has a bit of green stuff but still lots of sand. Rode a camel for 6 km yesterday and walked funny for a while. Am very well, no sign of illness except maybe sick of sand. Rough sand, fine sand, powdery sand, brown sand, white sand, too much sand. Other than that, it has been fun. I won't be bringing any sand back, except whatever falls out of my pockets, socks, shoes, and every other possible nook and cranny. That's all for now, the sandman cometh.

From : Mior (Zebra) To : Mama, Dani, Nisa dan Sara

Take care. I miss you and I love you very much. From : Najuib (Hantu) To : My loving Samsinar, Shakira and Sharina

Miss you a lot especially when I am bored driving and after dinner. You were wrong - I have not quarreled with my partner. He may be good for nothing but at least he will do whatever I tell him to do. He doesn't even know how to lock the tyres or check the engine oil. Although this is his second year with the team, it is only this year that he is learning a lot of things about 4-wheel-driving. We have a lot of common interests and he makes an interesting partner. I have not bought anything as there is nothing to buy from this trip, but I will definitely buy something from Casablanca. Love you and send my love to Mama.

From : Najuib (Hantu) To : Lim Eng Guan (Grandpa)

I miss your company especially when setting up and breaking camp because you used to prepare my bed. Only snapped about 40 photographs and finished shooting 2 video tapes because the view is the same everyday. Still appreciate the beautiful sunrise and sunset in the desert. Will arrange Trans Australia around March next year. Met new friends. Nothing to shop but I have collected some Sahara sand and stones for you. Best regards to Grandma and Evelyn.

Thank you for your message. This experience of travelling with the convoy is really priceless. I truly treasure this privilege.

From : Joyce Simson (Simba) To : Uncle Daniel, Aunty Daisy and the children

Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers. Well, the weather here is Sahara can be really, really hot in the daytime, sometimes reaching 45 degrees, but it gets cold at night, reaching 12 degrees. We are currently in Tunisia. It is a beautiful country.

From : Joyce Simson (Simba) To : Rajan Annen, Violet Akka and the children

Thank you for your message and your prayers. Sahara is beautiful - it is amazing to stand and see God's creation. The vastness of the desert remind me of God's never ending love and mercies.

From : Joyce Simson (Simba) To : Appa, Amma and Janice

We are in Tunisia now. Things are fine around here. I am well taken care of - I even have the privilege of waking up and having 'milo' personally handed to me. And when we reach campsites, coffee is always prepared and served. As it is I am spoilt, now it is worse. We went for a camel ride today. I screamed my lungs out because the camel tried to 'attack' me. The ride was great especially with the view of the sunset.

From : Joyce Simson (Simba) To : Vasanthi Subramaniam

Happy Birthday, Vasanthi! It is my hope and prayer that the dawn of a new year will bring with it promises of greater heights and fulfilled promises. Thank you for always being there, thank you for being truly understanding and allowing me to grow through the years, and thank you for being a really great friend.

From : Saravanan (Siera Siera) To : Kartini, Divya and Gowtham

Thank you for the messages. It is nice to know everything is well at home. I am fine here. We have arrived in Tunisia. We are still camping, but this time, there are facilities - water to bath and hot spring as well. We do not have to cook as dinner was provided - we had BBQ. Before this, we were eating bread and sand. So far I did not have any problem crossing the dunes, and the car is also fine. Today we started driving in the Tunisian dunes. It is different compared to the Libyan dunes. Tell Divya to keep trying to call - there is no line in the desert but we should be out in the town in the next two days. I will definitely call when I get the line. Tell Gowtham not to worry about the sister. I am collecting the coins and notes for you. Please settle my phone bill. I miss you especially when I think of your smile. Please convey my love to the children and tell them that I miss them too. Tell them that I will listen to both their complaints when I get back. Don't forget to send my regards to my father and mother.

From : Mohd Sidik Khan (Sea King) To : Dr. Nurul Azhar

Congratulations on opening your second clinic (any chances to invest?). Sorry to hear about Zulfikhar's daughter. Hope Bob recovers in due time. I am fine here. Thank you for your messages. It is nice to know the children are doing well. I miss the children and grandchildren. Perhaps one day I could hear them 'karaoke-ing'. Do convey my love to them.

From : Mohd Sidik Khan (Sea King) To : Sharifah Verena Abdullah

Once again Happy Birthday to you. And I am sorry that you missed many messages especially from your brothers and sisters as I did not fill up papers in the fax machine. I am surprised that you did not receive the card I sent, perhaps it is still on its way. I am fine here. Currently we are camping in the Tunisian desert, and today we had a chance to go for camel ride. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring 'tiger balm', and the camel was awfully slow. We will be in Tunisia for the 5 days, and then will proceed to Algeria (Oran) before going to Spain (Alecante) by road to Almeria, by ferry to Nador, Spain. And from Nador, we will head to Fez, Morocco. Regards and salam to Lan Burger, and Yasmin and family, and all. I love you very much and take care.

(Sorrylah kita lambat balas - no time :-) Salam dari perantauan gurun Sahara. Wassalam.

Hi Sayang. I am okay. Lots of fun in Sahara. Camping again today, and there is no water here. We will be in the desert for one more day. After that, we will be in Tripoli. We will finally get to a hotel after being in the desert for nearly one week. I miss you very much. I wish I could call you and hear your voice. The nights are lonely without you. I wish you could be here to see the wonderful sunsets and sun rises with me. Everyone around me is laughing as I write this. We are just sitting around, talking nonsense before going to sleep and the mechanics are still hard at work (it is 10:45 p.m.). Good night, and happy dreams.

From : Paul Si (Bayang) To : Julian and the Buayas

Been a lot of fun off-roading in the desert. The tyres look cleaner and newer after driving in sand. And some of the cars look newer, like they have been cleaned with sand paper. In fact we have all been cleaned with sand paper. It is easy to choose camp sites here because any place will do since there is no water anywhere. Looking forward to a bit of mud when I get back.

From : Paul Si (Bayang) To : Rena

Hi from Shati, a waterless oasis - 9680 km from home. No shower today, maybe tomorrow. Went through lots of dunes today, up and down and around, and all over again, and again. We will have one more night in the desert tomorrow before returning to civilisation, Tripoli, capital of Libya on Sunday. Getting a bit tired of sand, even though the landscape is beautiful. Saw a pink lake today, in addition to all that sand. How are things at home, and who won the Italian grand prix? Lots of love, and miss you.

15th September - Orang Utan outstation run at Sahara desert. Did a "back to nature run". The sand was so hot, instead of "on, on" we were saying "ouch, ouch". Since liquors is forbidden and illegal here, we have mineral water for 'down, down'. Instead of downing it, we have to soak our hot toes in the water. We went to a lake and the GM finally can float in the salty water. He got a kick out of it. You better behave yourselves while the GM is away. No fighting and quarelling allowed until we get back. Best of luck.
