MISC welcomes PETRONAS Trans-Himalayas vehicles home

October 27 - The PETRONAS Adventure Team (PAT) which made the country proud by being the first Malaysian motorised convoy to reach Everest Base Camp, from its North Face side, has finally arrived home.

The 43-day Trans-Himalayas expedition which involved 23 vehicles and 62 participants covered about 15,500km starting from Kuala Lumpur to Everest Base Camp and finishing at Shenzhen, China. The vehicles were then shipped from Shenzhen’s Shekou Port to Malaysia’s Port Klang, arriving successfully on 19 October 2005.

President and CEO of MISC Berhad, Y.Bhg. Dato’ Shamsul Azhar Abbas officiated the homecoming event at Port Klang today. All logistics movement of the Trans-Himalayan PAT including the shipment of the 4x4 vehicles were managed by MISC Integrated Logistics Sdn Bhd (MILS), a wholly owned subsidiary of MISC Berhad. MISC is proud to have been associated with PAT as its official logistics sponsor since 2001.
