PAT helps Selangor Fire and Rescue Department
Peat swamp forests are a natural source of flood mitigation, but when a heat-wave hits Selangor, they can become a fire hazard. At the Raja Muda Musa forest reserve in Batang Berjuntai, fires burn out of control, emitting smoke and contributing to the haze enveloping most parts of the Klang Valley.
The Petronas Adventure Team took the opportunity to help the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department in their efforts to eradicate the peat fires.”
