
24 March 2004 - This year's PETRONAS F1 promotional campaign was the best ever, said Azman Baharuddin, PETRONAS Adventure Team's Promotions and Marketing Director. Organised by PETRONAS Motorsports, the campaign was held in conjunction with the recently concluded 2004 PETRONAS Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix.
In Kuching, the PETRONAS Motorsports team was welcomed by a crowd of almost 120,000 spectators. This annual F1 promo was also an opportunity for the PETRONAS Motorsports community to get to know one another.
Part of the hectic but fun schedule included the community relations programme which was a hit with the children in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. "They were very excited and enthusiastic about meeting us," said Halim Rahman, PAT's Expedition Leader. "They were thrilled that we came all the way from Kuala Lumpur to their town for this purpose."
10 March 2004 - The PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix Promotional Campaign will be launched this Saturday (March 13) in Centre Point Kota Kinabalu by Yang Di Pertua Negeri Sabah, Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmadshah bin Abdullah.
Organised by PETRONAS Motorsports, the campaign is held in conjunction with the upcoming 2004 PETRONAS Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix.
From 2pm onwards on Sunday (March 14), members of the public can enjoy the PETRONAS Street Demo at Padang Merdeka. The 1.2-kilometre circuit fronts the Merdeka Palace Hotel in downtown Kuching. Starting with the PETRONAS Motorsports Parade (1445hrs), and followed by Tarmac Rally Exhibition by the PETRONAS EON Racing Team (1455hrs); PETRONAS FP1 Superbike Demo by Carl Fogarty and FP1 roadbikes by Troy Corser and Chris Walker, supported by Mohd Suhadi and Mohd Syahnas from the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing Team on the Yamaha R6 600cc motorcycle (1500hrs); Touring Car Demo by Farique Hairuman and Mashlino Buang of the PETRONAS Endurance Team (1505hrs); SAUBER PETRONAS Formula One Demo with two pit-stops by Felipe Massa (1510hrs); SAUBER PETRONAS Formula One Demo with two pit-stops by Giancarlo Fisichella (1525hrs); and the Tech Tour Truck Formation (1545hrs). The PETRONAS Formula One Demo programme is scheduled to end at 1615hrs.
Several Community Relations Programme (CR) will also allow schoolchildren to have a meet and greet session with all the PETMOS Drivers/Riders:
