PAT 2 POINTS BEHIND LEADER IN BORNEO SAFARI

30 October 2003 - The results after eight stages...PAT Team No. 37 Voo Ken Yin and Joseph Sin Kim Seng is second with 606 points. They are only 2 points behind the leader Team No. 21 Jabinus and Jumilin Sagini from Sabah. PAT Team No. 36 Wong Kok Phin and Lee Yun Sung maintain their third position with 600 points.

"Basically these top three drivers can't afford to make any mistakes because all three are very close to each other," said Faruk Rahman, the PAT Team Manager. "The competition is very interesting now as the teams are feeling the pressure to improve their rankings."

PAT FINISHED 2ND AND 3RD IN SS1

28 October 2003 - PAT finished 2nd (Voo Ken Yin) and 3rd (Wong Kok Phin) in Special Stages 1 of the Borneo Safari 2003. As for SS2, PAT Team Manager Faruk Rahman said that due to the cold and rain, it became too difficult and all participants recorded a DNF (did not finish).

SIXTY VEHICLES IN BORNEO SAFARI

27 October 2003 - A total of 60 vehicles will be participating in the Borneo Safari competition. Four vehicles are from Japan while the remainder comprise Malaysians from Sabah. The international media from the United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan will also join the local media in covering this event.

PAT TO PARTICIPATE IN BORNEO SAFARI 2003

23 October 2003 - For the first time ever, the PETRONAS Adventure Team will participate in Borneo Safari 2003. PAT is represented by Car No. 1 Voo Ken Yin (driver) and Joseph Sin (co-driver) and Car No. 2 Wong Kok Phin (driver) and Lee Yun Sung (co-driver). Both vehicles are Toyota Landcruiser BJ40 (old but they are the toughest amongst other models).

PAT Team Manager Encik Faruk Rahman, says, "This is the first time PAT will participate in Borneo Safari after participating twice in the Rainforest Challenge."

Borneo Safari participants can expect to compete for eight days and travel 1,000 kilometres in an off-road adventure in Sabah. Special stages (SS) in various sectors is designed to test the driver and co-driver to see how they fare in extreme conditions.

This event is organised by Kinabalu Four Wheel Drive Club (KFWDC) and assisted by Sabah Tourism Board and Malaysia Tourism Board. The event begins on 26th October and ends 2nd November 2003:

PETRONAS MOTORSPORTS ADVENTURE TRIP

12 October 2003 - Two days ago, 28 adventurers traded their corporate offices for the rainforest of Malaysia. Organised by the PETRONAS Adventure Team, the convoy visited Cenderawasih, Air Terjun Rimau Jemor and Berabong.

Khaleed and Zulkarnanin from PETRONAS Motorsports were there as well as 26 PETRONAS staff from Kuala Lumpur, Trengganu, Malacca and Shah Alam. Amongst them were four ladies - two regulars (Connie and Sze Ann) and two newcomers. From PAT, Halim Rahman (Team Leader), Azman Baharuddin (Convoy Leader) and Faruk Rahman (Sweeper) also joined the trip. Here's what happened:
