2ND AND 4TH PLACE FINISH FOR PAT IN BORNEO SAFARI 2003
4 November 2003 - After eight hardcore driving days in Borneo Safari 2003, the PETRONAS Adventure Team has emerged as second (Voo Ken Yin and Joseph Sin Kim Seng) and fourth place (Wong Kok Phin and Lee Yun Sung) winners.
"Despite a suspected thumb fracture on Day 2 of the competition, Wong was determined to finish the race," said PAT Team Manager Faruk Rahman. "The other team members and competitors really admired his dedication to the sports. So for him to finish fourth with injury is somethiing to be proud of!"
Voo and Sin received a Did Not Finish in Special Stage 10 and they received 20 points for that stage, explained Faruk about the second placing. Of more than 40 starters, about 22 vehicles completed all the special stages.
In his speech, Event Director James Wong praised PETRONAS Adventure Team for sending a team to Sabah and looked forward to PAT's participation next year.
