MERDEKA DAY PARADE IN PUTRAJAYA

31 August 03 - Straight from the rugged landscapes of Africa, the PETRONAS Adventure Team participated in the Merdeka Day Parade in Putrajaya drawing many admiring looks.

HALF A MILLION HITS FOR AFRICA TREK WEBSITE

19 August 03: Since May 2003, when the preparations for PETRONAS Africa Trek first began, the PETRONAS Adventure Team website has had as many as 560,433 hits (as of August 18). A big proportion of those hits (268,622) happened in July, when the expedition was travelling through South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, and Tanzania.

The top pages visited in July were "Drumbeats from Africa", "Messages to Africa", "Messages to Home", "Wallpaper", "Africa Maps", "About Us", and "Media Room". Media Room is a new feature of the website, set up specially for members of the media.

The expedition has garnered a huge following with supporters from not only Malaysia, but from countries such as the United States, Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, and Tanzania (top six countries).
