PETRONAS Siberia 2002 Expedition Officially Launched

THE PETRONAS Siberia Expedition 2002 launch was officiated by Tan Sri Dato' Seri Azizan Zainul Abidin, Chairman of Petronas. Expedition team members and their families were also present at Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur to add to the excitement of the launch.

FIRST Tibet, then Indochina and last year, the mother of all expeditions – the Silk Road. How do we top that ? Even before we got home from the Silk Road, our camp was abuzz with rumours of a more challenging expedition for 2002. It’s confirmed – this year will see us crossing the realm of Genghiz Khan, all the way to Siberia and back!

The PETRONAS Adventure Team is busy getting ready for this year’s big event – SIBERIA 2002. Among the many tasks – recces, cars, accessories, visas, medicals and, as you can see, updating our website.

A whole new section is devoted to this year’s expedition. It includes route maps, participant lists, and sponsors’ pages. Following the success of feedback pages last year, we are continuing a section dedicated to messages during the expedition. Just send them to us at and we’ll do the rest.
