KUALA LUMPUR, 8th June – The PETRONAS Adventure Team today has welcomed a representative from Galeri PETRONAS into the Silk Road Adventure 2001. A. Razlan will be joining convoy number 12 and he is in charge of collecting pictures, artifacts, as well as local information on the multiple culture and lifestyle that the Adventure Team will be experiencing along the Silk route.

Not forgetting, it is a great way of sharing the PETRONAS Adventure Team participants' experience and encounters through out the whole expedition. This is an amazing, once in a lifetime experience that has to be shared with the rest of the nation so that others can also say "Malaysia Boleh!"

SILK ROAD ADVENTURE 2001 LAUNCHED

PUTRAJAYA , Sun. – Dataran Putra provided the perfect backdrop for the official launch of Petronas Silk Road Adventure 2001 by the Chairman of Petronas, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Azizan Zainul Abidin. VIPs included the Iranian Ambassador and the Turkish Deputy Ambassador. Among the honoured guests were past expedition members from Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia, meeting again for the first time after IndoChina 2000.

To mark the official launch by Tan Sri Azizan, the Petronas Adventure Team’s 4WD convoy circled Dataran Putra. The procession was a magnificent sight, greeted by cheers and applause from all present. It only came to a halt as an escort of superbikers, led by Faruk Rahman, stopped on the Dataran itself.

The bikers and participants were then introduced to the guest of honour who joined the 4WD convoy on a tour of Putrajaya. On their return to the Dataran, all the team members along with their family and guests were treated to a light buffet lunch. The event ended with a press conference attended by Tan Sri Azizan and Halim Rahman.
