PETROLIAM NASIONAL BERHAD (PETRONAS) The national oil corporation is the title sponsor of the PETRONAS Trans Euro Asia 2008 Expedition. The PETRONAS Adventure Team, a member of the PETRONAS Motorsports family, has previously embarked on 9 successful expeditions, carrying the PETRONAS and Malaysian flags in countries where the national oil corporation operates.
All vehicles in the expedition will be using PETRONAS Syntium lubricants. The fully synthetic multi-grade engine oil has been developed with Formula 1 technology, to provide complete engine protection especially for the 4WD engines, which will be operating under the most extreme and demanding conditions.
MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING CORPORATION BERHAD (MISC) The expedition also receives the support of Malaysian International Shipping Corporation Berhad (MISC) as the expedition's official carrier. MISC will be shipping the vehicles from Port Klang, Malaysia to Hamburg, Germany.
In addition to being fully equipped with the necessary modifications and a complete recovery kit, the vehicles will be fitted with KUMHO tyres. The powerful 15" and 16" Roadventure MT tyres display excellent handling and wear-resistance in all weather conditions and are best for exceptional offroad handling. These tyres will be in their element especially in rough terrains and bad roads, which will be encountered by the expedition almost daily.
For the first time ever, the PETRONAS Trans Euro-Asia 2008 Expedition, will be filmed in high definition. PAT's tenth expedition docudrama will be aired on ASTRO in two languages, reaching an estimated audience of over 2.3 million subscribers in Malaysia alone. ASTRO All Asia Networks is the holding company for MEASAT Broadcast Network Systems Sdn. Bhd., the sole operator of direct-to-home satellite pay television services in Malaysia.
