MEDIA LAUNCH, HILTON KL SENTRAL9th MayPETRONAS Adventure Team today launched their tenth expedition, titled the PETRONAS Trans Euro-Asia 2008 Expedition at KL Sentral Hilton. The expedition will take off from St. Petersburg in Russia and end in Kerteh, Malaysia. This year's expedition will cross Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia.

This year's expedition will see 52 men and women, in 18 vehicles travel over 20,000 kilometers - traversing some of the harshest places on Earth. The team will also attempt to reach Keliya, the least populated place in China. To date, only four attempts have been made to reach Keliya, with only one successful group, arriving with only 4 vehicles intact.

As per previous expeditions, the team will also have three representatives from PETRONAS - one from the Motorsports Division, and two staff participants.

Halim Rahman, Expedition Leader said, "This will be the Mother of All Expeditions. It is going to be tough, but we have many achievements to live up to".

This year, the docudrama for PETRONAS Trans Euro-Asia 2008 will be shot in high definition, and be broadcast on ASTRO bilingually, another first for PAT. Progress of the expedition can also be followed through the team's website, where regular updates will be posted.
